Spirit in Motion 2004년 아테네 하계 패럴림픽에서 제정, 이전에 쓰였던 모토는 1994년 릴리함메르 동계 패럴림픽에서 등장한 "마음, 신체, 영혼 ( Mind, Body, Spirit ) " 이었다.

모든 참가 선수의 이름으로, 우리는 패럴림픽 정신의 근본적 원칙에 따라, 진정한 스포츠맨십과 팀의 명예를 위하여 경기규칙을 준수하고, 약물과 부정행위 없이 오로지 경기에만 전념할 것을 서약합니다.
